works Hippocampian Scrolls: Generation Alef, 2017 Archival inkjet print 8 x 60 Feet Grid Installation, 45 Prints 3.5 x 24 inches each Hippocampian Scrolls: Generation Alef depicts various stages of a fictional conflict between horses and centaurs. Unlike Barakeh’s related animations which unfold from beginning to end, the use of the grid here has a different relationship to time, positioning viewers to pause on certain moments, thus allowing them to develop their own narratives across the grid structure, and offering a panoramic view of the conflict.
